Dear parents,
I can hardly believe we are at the end of the year. I apologize for not blogging last week with the field trip and insect day, we've been a little busy!
In math we have competed the end of the year quarterly test and have been reviewing in class some of the games that we learned this year. We will do a few journal pages. Look for the math journal to come home tomorrow. Students may compete any pages for extra practice all summer long.
In reading, we have been reading fiction books and some of our favorites from the past year. We went on a contraction hunt last week and found many contractions in our books.
In writing, we are wrapping up persuasive writing tomorrow, we had to select a piece for second grade portfolios. The portfolio contains writing and testing that stays in school and goes on to their next teacher.
We will write a letter to our second grade teacher to introduce ourselves to her over the summer.
Wednesday is a half day. Students are dismissed at noon that day. It is the last day of school and we will be getting our yearbooks!
I have enjoyed watching your children grow and learn. I will miss each one of them.
